OntoMed and S. Cuore Hospital Launch OntoCare Evaluation Study
Ann Arbor MI, Dec 17, 2010
OntoMed and the Department of Cardiology of the Ospedale Sacro Cuore are commencing a study having as objective the evaluation of the recently launched OntoCare™ system. OntoCare™ is a software tool which quantifies the impact of therapy based on complexity analysis of patient's pre and post-therapy data. "In the case of Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy via ICD implant for example, OntoCare™ allows us to express in quantitative terms the degree of success of therapy based on pre and post implant ECG analysis" said Dr. J. Marczyk, OntoMed's founder and CEO. OntoCare™ can be used to measure the degree of patient response to other forms of treatment, such as surgery, and provides in an easily understandable graphical form a breakdown into components of the impact on the patient's post-therapy state. Obtain the OntoCare™ Data Sheet here.
OntoMed is a US-based spin-off from Ontonix. Created in mid-2009, the company has the mission of delivering complexity concepts and technology to the medical community.
The Ospedale Sacro Cuore is based in Negrar, Verona, Italy. For more information visit website.

OntoMed Signs Collaboration Agreement with US Army Institute of Surgical Research
Ann Arbor, MI. May 24, 2010: OntoMed, the healthcare focused spin off from Ontonix, has signed a Co-operative Research And Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) based in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This CRADA represents an important milestone in OntoMed’s endeavor to deploy complexity analysis technology in the health care space.
OntoMed develops COSMOS, a multi-channel real-time system which quantifies the stability of hospitalized patients. Based on streaming data, originating from sensors and other monitoring devices such as those in an Intensive Care Unit, the device measures the instantaneous degree of stability of a patient. The system also signals when the mentioned stability undergoes changes due to traumas, side-effects of treatment or any other dynamic mutations within the patient’s organism. The technology is unique in that it processes simultaneously all channels, analyzing all the cross-relationships, delivering a truly holistic view of the patient's state. Most importantly, since the collected data is processed by the system according to a model-free technique, the measure of stability of the patient is not biased by any particular mathematical approach.
Ontonix, a privately held company, develops software and offers high added value services in the field of complexity management. OntoSpace™, the company's flagship product, is the world's first complexity quantification and management system. The unique approach to complexity and its quantification that is available in OntoSpace™ establishes radically innovative means of crisis-anticipation, superior BI-CPM, decision-making, holistic risk rating and risk management. Ontonix also offers a first-of-a-kind on-line on-demand service which enables our customers to purchase personalized Complexity & Risk Maps™ and perform near real-time complexity-based self-ratings, allowing one to verify the state-of-health of corporations, organizations, asset portfolios, or any kind of business.

OntoMed signs collaboration agreement with University of Michigan Health System
Ann Arbor, MI. February 15, 2010: OntoMed, the healthcare focused spin off from Ontonix (www.ontonix.com), has signed a data transfer and collaboration agreement with the University of Michigan Health System.
Under this agreement, OntoMed will be provided access to certain de-identified ICU data with the objective of quantifying the state of health and stability of patients under treatment. In return, UMHS will be able to utilize OntoMed’s complexity analysis expertise to explore the efficacy of this new technology for obtaining early alerts on the state of health of patients under critical care.
This collaboration represents an important milestone in OntoMed’s endeavor to deploy complexity analysis technology in the health care space.
